About Us
Two Cedars in Broadstone is a residential care home for older people who need help with daily living, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places.
What we offer is fairly simple and we try to do it well. Help with washing, dressing and getting about, given at the person's own pace and in a way that protects their dignity. Medication managed properly. Three meals a day that people are glad to sit down to, cooked here, with real choice at every one. Warm, clean rooms that people make their own with their own furniture and photographs. Company when it is wanted and quiet when it is not.
Being a small house, we know everybody who lives here properly, not as a set of care needs but as people with histories, tastes and opinions. That is what lets us notice early when somebody is off colour or out of sorts. We act on it quickly, involve the surgery and the district nurses, and tell families what is happening rather than waiting to be asked.
Respite stays are a genuine part of what we do, whether to give a relative a holiday, to help somebody find their feet after a spell in hospital, or to let a person try us out before deciding anything permanent.
Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated the home good overall. Anyone thinking about a move is welcome to visit.
