About Us
St Anne's Care Home is a residential care home in Bournemouth providing a home for older people, for younger adults, for people living with dementia, for adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, for people with physical disabilities and for people with loss of sight or hearing.
That range works because we build support around the individual rather than around a category. One person may need help with almost every part of the day and another hardly any, and both live here on the same terms. We ask each person what a good day looks like for them, write it down in a form that makes sense to them, and change it when they say so.
Communication gets close attention, using speech, signing, symbols, objects of reference or simply the understanding that comes from knowing somebody well. For people with sensory loss we adapt how rooms are lit and how we approach and announce ourselves.
People here are supported to get out into Bournemouth, to clubs, appointments and family, and to be as involved in the running of the house as they want to be.
Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Please ring us if you would like to come and see the home.
