About Gallaudet Home
Gallaudet Home is a residential care home in Bath. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment, and many of the people living here are younger adults. Because the people here are so different from one another, we do not run a single routine. We take time to learn how each person communicates, what they enjoy, what unsettles them and what they want from their week, and the support follows from that. Where somebody has a sensory or physical impairment we pay close attention to the environment itself, since practical arrangements often do more for independence than extra help does. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family carer a genuine break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We are not going to talk around it. We know where our work fell short of what the people living here deserve, we are working through those areas with our team, and we would far rather you asked us about it directly and looked at what has changed than took a careful sentence at face value. You are welcome to visit on an ordinary day, meet the people who live here and ask us anything at all.
