About Us

Kun Mor and George Kiss Home is a residential care home in Barnet. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia, along with respite and short stays.

We aim to run a household rather than a facility. Residents bring their own furniture and photographs, keep the routines they have always had and decide for themselves how much they want to be part of what is going on. Nobody is marched off to an activity they have not chosen.

When somebody moves in we spend real time on their history and preferences, from what time they wake and how they take their tea to the work they did, the places they have lived and the people who matter to them. All of it is written down so that everybody working here knows it.

Language, food, faith and custom are a large part of whether somebody feels at home, and they matter more rather than less as dementia advances, because people often return to the language they grew up speaking. We take that seriously in how we staff the home and what comes out of the kitchen.

Dementia support rests on familiarity and pace. We keep staffing as consistent as we can, avoid unnecessary change and work out what settles a particular resident.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round whenever suits you.
