About Overslade House
Overslade House is a nursing home in Rugby. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing on the premises, including many people living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays for those who need nursing care for a shorter period. Nursing here covers changing health, skin and wound care, complicated medication and care for people approaching the end of their lives. Having nurses on site at all hours means problems tend to be picked up early and can usually be managed here with the GP, which spares people admissions to hospital they would rather avoid. Alongside that, this is somewhere people live. We ask what an ordinary day looked like before somebody came to us and try to protect the parts that mattered, whether that is a particular chair, a walk in the garden, the radio on first thing or being left in peace until they are ready. Dementia care depends on knowing a life rather than a diagnosis, so we ask relatives to tell us about work, family, habits and the things that used to matter. Families are welcome and we encourage them to visit often and to ask us questions. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at nursing care in Rugby or elsewhere in Warwickshire, please contact us and arrange to come and see the home.
