We are a nursing home in Leamington Spa, caring for adults whose needs require qualified nursing alongside support with daily living, including people living with mental health conditions. Nursing care in this setting is a particular kind of work. There are health needs that must be managed properly and without waiting: medication, pain, continence, difficulties with eating, drinking and moving, and the early signs of illness. Just as important is how care is offered. For somebody whose mental health is unsettled, a steady routine, familiar staff and people who know them well enough to see difficulty coming matter as much as anything clinical, and we try to treat the two as equally serious. People here have their own rooms and their own things, and we keep staffing as settled as we can because familiar faces do more good than almost anything else we could arrange. Respite stays are available as well as longer places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves than leave you to find it later. We are working through the points the inspectors raised and are willing to go through the report with anyone considering us.
