About Croft House Care Home
Croft House is a nursing home in Ossett, and our role is to care for adults who need the kind of clinical support that cannot easily be given at home. We look after older people, adults living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and younger adults whose health needs call for registered nurses on duty at all times. Ossett is a close community and a good number of the people who live with us have spent their lives in this part of Wakefield. That matters more than it might sound. Familiar names, familiar streets outside the window and visitors who can walk round in ten minutes all help someone feel that they have moved rather than been sent away. Our nursing team handles medication, wound care, continence needs, feeding support and the daily monitoring that keeps small problems from becoming serious ones. Alongside that sits the ordinary business of living well: a proper breakfast, a bath when you want one rather than when the rota says, company if you want it and quiet if you do not. For people with a physical disability we concentrate on what makes movement and independence possible, from equipment and positioning to simply allowing enough time so that nobody is rushed. We take respite bookings too, for planned breaks and for recovery after hospital. Please ring us or call in if you would like to see Croft House and talk things through.
