About Acer Mews
Acer Mews is a nursing home in Ashton under Lyne. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and people managing a mental health condition. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Supporting that range of need in one home works only if the care is genuinely individual. A younger adult with a physical disability who wants to get out and do things has little in common with an older person in the later stages of dementia, and treating them as variations of the same task fails both. We plan with each person separately and expect staff to know the people they support properly. Nurses are on duty at every hour, so medication, skin care, nutrition, pain and mobility are managed here and changes in health are noticed early. We also think a home should feel like somewhere people live. Rooms belong to the people in them, and visitors come without appointment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round if you are considering nursing care locally.
