About Paddock Stile Manor

Paddock Stile Manor is a care home with nursing in Sunderland, offering residential care, nursing care, specialist support for people living with dementia and respite stays for people who need somewhere for a few weeks rather than permanently. We are an ordinary home in the best sense. There is a routine to the day, but it bends around the people living here rather than the other way round. Some are up early with the radio on, some prefer a slow start and a late breakfast, and both are perfectly fine. What we do insist on is that nobody spends the day sitting in a chair with nothing happening around them. Having nurses on site at all times means we can look after people whose health needs are considerable, and it means we can usually manage a period of illness here rather than sending someone to hospital. Our care staff work alongside the nursing team and know the people they support well, which is how small changes get noticed before they become emergencies. Families in the Houghton and wider Sunderland area are welcome whenever it suits them, and we would rather you told us straight away if something is not as it should be. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. We are proud of that and equally aware that it has to be earned again every day.
