About Lound Hall
Lound Hall is a nursing home in Lowestoft, Suffolk. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, for residents living with dementia, for people with physical disabilities and for people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also offer respite stays. Having registered nurses on duty at all hours is the heart of what we do. Wounds, medication, pain relief, continence, long term conditions and end of life care are managed here, and changes in a resident's health are noticed and acted on quickly rather than waiting for an appointment. We work alongside GPs, community specialists and hospital teams so that decisions are made in good time. It also means people do not have to move on as their needs increase, which for somebody settled here matters enormously. We try hard to keep the place feeling like a home rather than a ward. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want, and rooms are furnished with their own belongings. Visitors are welcome without appointment. For residents living with dementia we keep surroundings familiar and staffing consistent, and we take trouble to understand what lies behind distress. Where somebody has limited sight or hearing, the way we approach and speak to them takes account of it. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection. Please come and look round.
