About The Meadows Care Home

The Meadows Care Home is a nursing home in Haverhill. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including residents living with dementia and people whose physical disability means they need skilled support to stay comfortable. Nurses on duty around the clock let us manage wound and pressure care, continence and catheter needs, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care, working with GPs and district nursing teams. It also means that when somebody's health declines they can usually remain here, among familiar faces, rather than moving at the worst possible time. Moving and handling forms a large part of our work and we take it seriously. Done properly it is unhurried, explained as it happens and carried out with the right equipment, which is what makes the difference between feeling supported and feeling handled. For residents living with dementia we keep surroundings calm, routines predictable and staff consistent, and we lean on families for the history that helps us understand somebody. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places, including support after a hospital discharge. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Suffolk are welcome to visit.
