About Us
Park Farm Lodge is a nursing home in Tamworth, with qualified nurses on duty at all times. We care for older people and younger adults, including many people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are part of what we do.
People usually come to us when health needs have grown beyond what support at home or a residential home can meet, and our task is to meet those needs without letting them become the whole of somebody's life.
Nursing here means consistent attention to the things that keep a person comfortable and well: medicines, mobility, nutrition and hydration, skin, continence and pain, reviewed properly and talked through with the person and their family rather than handled quietly in the background. We involve GPs, district nurses and specialists early rather than late.
Around that, ordinary life carries on. People rise when they wake, sit where they choose, keep their own furniture and photographs about them, and eat food that suits their taste as well as any clinical need. Where there is a physical disability we think hard about equipment, layout and timing. Where there is sensory loss we attend to lighting, contrast and working hearing aids.
We are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and anyone considering the home is welcome to visit and ask us anything.
