About Us
Lakeview is a nursing home near Walsall. We care for older people and younger adults whose needs include nursing, including many living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are part of what we do.
Having nurses in the team means complex health needs are met here rather than becoming a reason to move somebody again. Repeated moves are hard on anybody and hardest on a person living with dementia, for whom familiar faces are doing real work.
Nursing is a part of the day and not the character of the house, and we guard that distinction. Once a home starts running to ward habits, residents stop being asked what they would like and the day loses any shape of its own, so mealtimes, fresh air and unhurried help are protected deliberately.
We also pay attention to pain in people who cannot easily report it. Unexplained agitation is usually a message rather than a behaviour.
Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ask us about staffing at night, because that is where the honest answer matters most.
