About Us
Branston Court Care Home in Burton On Trent provides nursing care for older people and younger adults, with qualified nurses on duty throughout the day and night. Health needs are therefore met here, by people who know the resident, rather than through repeated journeys elsewhere at short notice.
Supporting residents living with dementia is a large part of what we do, and we try to do it properly. That means learning who somebody was and still is, keeping to the rhythms that make sense to them, using the surroundings to reduce confusion, and treating distress as communication rather than as behaviour to be managed. Families often say the hardest part is feeling they have handed somebody over, so we work hard to keep them closely involved.
The practical nursing work is a matter of attention to detail: medication, skin care, mobility, nutrition and comfort. Meals matter here, and so does time outdoors.
Respite stays are available for people needing nursing care for a short period.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good.
You are welcome to visit at an ordinary time, see how the day runs and ask our nurses whatever you would like to know.
