About Clare Hall Nursing Home
Clare Hall is a nursing home in Radstock, with qualified nurses on duty day and night alongside our care team. People generally come to us when health needs have grown beyond what residential care or support at home can manage, and our task is to meet those needs without letting them become the whole of somebody's life. We care for older people, including many living with dementia, and for younger adults. Nursing here means consistent attention to the things that keep a person comfortable and well: medicines, mobility, nutrition and hydration, skin, continence and pain. We work with GPs and community teams rather than waiting for problems to become urgent, and we talk with the person and their family about what is happening instead of handling it quietly in the background. Around that, ordinary life carries on. People rise when they wake, sit where they choose, keep their own furniture and photographs about them, and eat food that suits their taste as well as any clinical need. Visitors are welcome and we would far rather families came often and casually. We offer respite stays as well as permanent places, which can give a relative who cares at home a proper rest. When someone is nearing the end of life we aim to be honest, present and unhurried with both the person and their family. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
