About The Cedars
We are The Cedars, a nursing home near Wolverhampton. We provide nursing care for older people and for younger adults, and we welcome people for respite stays as well as permanent places. What a nursing home offers that a residential one cannot is clinical care on site at any hour. For the people who live here that means health needs are noticed early and dealt with by staff who already know them. It means somebody can stay when their condition changes rather than moving at exactly the point when a move is hardest. And it means care at the end of life can happen here, among familiar faces, when that is what a person and their family want. The rest of it is ordinary living, and we try hard not to let the clinical side crowd that out. People keep their own routines, their own belongings and their own opinions about how the day should go. Meals are something to look forward to. Visitors come when it suits them rather than when it suits us. Respite guests are assessed and cared for exactly as permanent residents are. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
