About The Sandford Nursing Home
We are The Sandford Nursing Home in Church Stretton, Shropshire, providing nursing care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with a physical disability. Registered nurses are on duty around the clock, so medication, wound care and the everyday monitoring that keeps small problems from becoming serious ones are handled here by people who see each person daily. Having nursing on site does not mean life here feels clinical. People keep their own rooms and their own belongings, and the routines that matter carry on. For those living with dementia we pay close attention to familiar faces and a steady rhythm to the day, and we take time to learn a life history so that reassurance rests on something a person recognises. We also offer respite care, which suits families needing a planned break and people recovering after a hospital stay. We want to be straightforward with anyone considering us. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as requires improvement overall, and we are not going to talk around that. We know which areas were identified, we are working through them, and we would far rather discuss that openly with families than have them find out later while making an important decision. Relatives and friends are welcome here and we would rather hear a concern early than have it go unsaid. Please visit us, ask direct questions and hold us to the answers we give you.
