About Sandpipers Care Centre

Sandpipers Care Centre in Southport provides nursing care for older people and younger adults, with qualified nurses on hand throughout the day and night. Health needs are therefore met on site by people who know the resident well, rather than through repeated journeys elsewhere at short notice. We support residents living with a physical disability and people who have sight or hearing loss. Our aim in both cases is to take the obstacle out of the way rather than to narrow what somebody does, so equipment, layout, lighting and unhurried communication all matter. The nursing work covers medication, mobility, nutrition, skin care, pain and comfort, done carefully and without fuss. Residents decide how their days run, rooms are personalised, and relatives are welcome whenever they can come. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing care for a short period, including after time in hospital. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, so we would rather you came and formed your own view. Please visit at an ordinary time of day, meet our nurses and residents, and ask us whatever you would like to know before deciding anything.
