About The Gables

The Gables in Oldbury provides nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions and people with a physical disability. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, working alongside carers who know the people they look after. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we work closely with GPs and community specialists so that changes in somebody's health are picked up early. Supporting people with this range of needs takes planning for each person individually and training staff for the needs they actually support. It also takes time, so we build the rota to give staff enough of it, since rushed care is rarely good care. We want the home to feel lived in. Rooms are personalised with things that matter, meals are cooked here, visitors are welcome and there is company in the day for anybody who wants it. For people living with dementia we keep routines predictable and familiar things close at hand. Respite and short stays can be arranged, including after a hospital admission. If you are looking at nursing homes in this area, please telephone us and arrange to come and see.
