About Potters Green
We are Potters Green, a nursing home in Mexborough supporting older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing care. Registered nurses are on duty around the clock, so medication, wound care, complex health needs and the everyday monitoring that keeps small problems from becoming serious ones are handled here by people who see each person daily and notice when something is different. We support people living with dementia, people living with mental ill health and people with a physical disability. Having nursing on site does not make life here feel clinical. People keep their own rooms and their own belongings, the routines that matter carry on, and the day is built around what individuals want to do rather than what suits the rota. For those living with dementia, familiar faces and a steady rhythm matter enormously, so we work to keep the team around each person consistent and we take time to learn a life history. We also offer respite care, which suits families who need a planned break and people recovering after a hospital stay who are not quite ready to go straight home. We prepare for short stays properly so that nobody arrives feeling like a stranger. Moving into a nursing home is rarely anyone's first choice, and we would rather acknowledge that than pretend otherwise. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us good overall. Relatives and friends are welcome whenever they wish to come. Please visit us and ask difficult questions if you are considering Potters Green.
