About Harmony House Nursing Home
We are Harmony House Nursing Home in Redcar. We provide nursing care and support for adults living with mental health conditions, and we also offer respite stays. Because our focus is mental health rather than general older people's care, the way we work is different from most nursing homes. Having qualified nursing available means health needs and medication can be looked after properly without somebody having to move on in order to get them managed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we are not going to write around it. We have gone through what the inspection found, changed how care is planned, recorded and reviewed, and strengthened the training and supervision of our staff. Our progress is being monitored, and we talk about it openly with the people who live here, their families and those who commission their care. Much of what we do is about structure without rigidity. A predictable day, a decent meal, a proper night's sleep, medication that is right and taken, and somebody who notices how you are doing make the difference between coping and struggling. Equally, this is somewhere people live rather than a programme they are put through. If you are considering us, please visit and ask about the rating directly.
