About Us
We are a nursing home in Southsea, caring for people who need qualified nursing support alongside help with the everyday parts of life. Nurses are available at every hour, which means changes in someone's condition can be noticed and acted on early.
Most of the people who live here are older, and we also care for younger adults whose health needs make nursing care necessary. We support people living with dementia and people living with mental health needs, and our approach rests on knowing the person properly rather than on any particular method. We also care for people with a physical disability, working alongside therapists so that equipment, positioning and comfort are properly thought out, and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available, whether for a family carer needing a real break or for someone recovering after a spell in hospital.
We would rather be plain about inspection than quiet about it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to explain that away. We know what was identified, we are working through it, and if you visit we would encourage you to ask exactly what has changed and to hold us to what we say.
