About Us
We at Honeybourne House are proud to offer residential care in the heart of Plymouth, providing a welcoming home for adults who need support with day to day living. Our residential care home in the PL area of Plymouth combines comfortable surroundings with skilled, compassionate care tailored to each person who joins us.
Set within the vibrant coastal city of Plymouth in the South West, our home offers residents the reassurance of a settled community whilst remaining connected to the wider life of the city. The surroundings have been thoughtfully arranged to feel like home, with communal spaces that encourage friendship and quieter corners for those moments when peace and privacy matter most. We believe the environment in which someone lives shapes how they feel each day, and we take great care to make Honeybourne House warm, familiar, and calming.
Our team supports a broad range of needs, which means families do not have to look elsewhere as circumstances change. We provide older person care and residential care for those who need daily support, alongside nursing care for residents with more complex health needs. We also welcome younger adults, and we have experience supporting people living with learning disabilities and autism, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairment. In practice, this means our team takes the time to understand each person as an individual, adapting communication, routines, and activities so every resident feels genuinely known and valued. For families who need a short break or reassurance during a period of recovery, we offer respite care, giving loved ones a safe and nurturing place to stay for a shorter period.
Our most recent CQC inspection, carried out on 11 October 2024, rated us as Requires Improvement overall. Within that, we were rated Good for being Effective, Caring, and Responsive, which reflects the everyday warmth, skill, and attentiveness our residents and their families experience from our team. We were rated Requires Improvement in the Safe and Well led domains, and we want to be open about that. We are actively working on the areas identified, with clear plans in place to strengthen leadership and safety practices across the home. We believe honesty matters when families are making such an important decision, and we are committed to demonstrating steady, meaningful improvement.
Choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we understand the questions, hopes, and worries that come with it. We would be delighted to welcome you to Honeybourne House to see our home for yourself, meet the people who live and work here, and talk through how we can support your loved one. Please get in touch to arrange a visit, and let us show you the care and community we offer in Plymouth.
