About Rose Meadow
Rose Meadow is a nursing home in Doncaster caring for people whose needs bring nursing together with support for a learning disability or autism. Older people live here and so do a good number of younger adults, and we offer respite stays. That combination is what we are set up for. People often come to us because other settings could manage one part of what they needed but not the whole of it: a learning disability alongside a long term health condition, or nursing needs that a supported living service could not meet. Splitting that between separate teams rarely works well. Here, registered nurses are on duty at all hours and the wider staff group is experienced in supporting autistic adults and people with learning disabilities, so the whole picture sits with one team. We go slowly at the start. Visits before any decision, honest information in both directions, and a proper handover from the people who know somebody best. A move made in a hurry can undo years of progress. After that the aim is an ordinary life with the right support attached: going out, keeping up with family, making choices that are genuinely the person's own. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. If you are looking for a placement, ring us and we will say honestly whether we are the right fit.
