About Thomas Knight Care Home
Thomas Knight is a nursing home in Blyth, Northumberland. Because we are registered for nursing care, we can look after people whose health needs are beyond what a residential home can safely meet, with qualified nurses working alongside our care team throughout. Most of our residents are older adults with ongoing medical needs as well as needing help with everyday personal care. We support people with their conditions, medication, nutrition, mobility and comfort, and we work with GPs and community health teams so that care is coordinated rather than duplicated. We also care for younger adults whose conditions require nursing support, and we plan their days around their own interests rather than the pattern that suits the majority. Dementia care is a significant part of our work, and it rests on knowing each person well enough to reassure them in the terms that make sense to them. Respite stays are available for families needing a planned break or support after a hospital discharge. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather put that in front of you ourselves than let you find it later and wonder why we did not mention it. Our attention is on the areas identified, and we are glad to talk through them with any family considering the home.
