About Oak Trees Care Home

We are Oak Trees Care Home, a nursing home in York. We care for older people who need the support of qualified nurses as well as help with daily living, and we also take respite admissions for shorter stays. Having nurses on duty around the clock changes what we can manage. Complex health needs, wounds, continence, pain, the careful handling of medication and the slow decline that often comes with very old age can all be looked after here without someone being moved on somewhere else the moment their needs increase. That continuity is one of the things families tell us matters most. Alongside the nursing, we try to keep hold of ordinary life. People get up when they want, eat what they like, sit where they choose and keep their own habits. We learn the small preferences, because those are usually what make a person feel like themselves rather than a patient. Respite stays are welcome, whether a family carer needs a rest or someone needs looking after while they recover. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather show you than tell you, so if you are considering Oak Trees for a relative, please come and see us, at a time of day of your choosing.
