About Threshfield Court
Threshfield Court is a nursing home in Skipton, North Yorkshire. We care for older people and younger adults who need nursing support, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we take respite admissions alongside permanent places. Having qualified nurses on site around the clock means we can look after people whose health needs are complex or changing, manage a great deal here rather than in hospital, and give care towards the end of life properly and without rush. It also means families are not left worrying about what happens overnight. Clinical care is only half the job. What people notice day to day is whether their relative is comfortable, clean, eating well, listened to and answered when they call, and whether the people looking after them know their name and their history. Those are the standards we hold ourselves to. For residents living with dementia we keep the environment calm, routines familiar and staffing as steady as we can manage, and we take time to learn about each person's life so that we can make better sense of what they are telling us when words become difficult. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, which we treat as a foundation rather than a conclusion. Families are welcome at Threshfield Court, and we would far rather be told about a concern at the time than hear about it much later. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
