About Woodlands Nursing Home
We are Woodlands Nursing Home in Filey, on the North Yorkshire coast. As a nursing home we have registered nurses on duty at every hour of the day and night, so we are able to care for people with complex health needs, including those living with dementia, with mental health conditions, with physical disabilities and with sight or hearing loss. Alongside longer stays we offer respite care, which can be a lifeline for families who need a planned break or who are managing a period of illness at home. Being by the sea shapes the days here more than you might expect. Fresh air, a view of the coast and trips out when the weather allows all matter to people, and we build them in wherever we can rather than treating them as occasional treats. We start from the person. Before anyone moves in we want to know about their working life, their family, their beliefs and their habits, because good nursing care depends on knowing who you are caring for. Families are part of that conversation and remain part of it afterwards, and we do not impose restrictive visiting hours. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are proud of that and equally aware that a rating reflects a moment in time, so we keep examining our own work rather than resting on it. You are welcome to come and look round, meet our nurses and see how the home feels on an ordinary day.
