About Seaview

Seaview is a nursing home in Whitley Bay providing nursing care for older people and for younger adults with a wide range of needs. We support people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing is impaired, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. That breadth is deliberate but it only works if the care is genuinely individual. Somebody in their thirties with complex physical needs wants a very different life from somebody in their nineties living with dementia, and it is our job to make both of those lives possible under one roof. We plan with the person, with their family and with the professionals who know them, and we are honest at the outset if we do not think we are the right place. Qualified nurses are on duty around the clock, so medication, wounds, continence, epilepsy, long term conditions and end of life care are all managed here, alongside GPs, community teams and specialists. Communication matters enormously with the range of people we support. Where somebody communicates without speech, we learn how they do communicate and we write it down so that every member of staff works the same way. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. Visitors are welcome and we are happy to answer any question you have.
