About Us
We are Glenmoor House Care Home in Corby, a nursing home providing qualified nursing care alongside daily support. We care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss, and we take respite admissions for short planned stays.
Nurses on duty mean that health needs are met here rather than elsewhere. Medication, wound and pressure area care, continence support, management of long term conditions and careful support at the end of life are all part of the everyday work, and we keep close working relationships with visiting general practitioners, community mental health teams, district nurses and therapists.
Good clinical care is the foundation rather than the whole building. We take trouble over meals, over how somebody is helped to dress in the morning, over whether a person who has always been an early riser can carry on being one. Rooms hold people's own furniture and pictures where there is space, and visitors are welcome without ceremony.
For residents with dementia we keep the day familiar and take our lead from the person. For those with sensory loss our staff introduce themselves clearly, explain what they are doing and leave belongings exactly where they were. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we would be glad to show you the home on an ordinary day.
