About Brownlee Court
Brownlee Court is a nursing home in Middlesbrough. We care for adults who need nursing support, including people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and people recovering from an eating disorder. Respite stays are available. Because the people we care for have very little in common in terms of what they need, we plan care person by person and mean it. What settles somebody with dementia is not what gives an adult with a learning disability confidence, and neither resembles what helps somebody working their way back from an eating disorder. Running one routine across all of that would suit nobody. Having qualified nurses on site around the clock means wounds, pain, continence, nutrition, medication and safe movement are all managed properly, and much that might otherwise involve hospital does not have to. Where the work is sensitive we go carefully and without judgement, because recovery rarely runs in a straight line and being steady on the difficult weeks is most of what we are for. Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture the small habits carry the weight. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, and we keep asking the people here what needs our attention.
