About Us
We are Hallmark Kew House, a nursing home in Merton caring for older people and for younger adults who need nursing support. Many of the people living with us are living with dementia, and we also support people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment.
Our most recent CQC overall rating is outstanding. We are pleased about that, though the measure we care about more is whether the people who live here are having days worth having.
Qualified nurses are on duty around the clock, so changes in someone's health are noticed and acted on promptly and families are not left worrying about the hours when nobody senior is about. Alongside that, we run the house around the people in it. There is no set time to get up, meals are chosen rather than allocated, and the day belongs to the resident.
Dementia care here rests on knowing the person. We learn about the work somebody did, the places they knew and the things that still bring them pleasure, and we use that rather than correcting people about the present. It makes for calmer, better days.
Relatives are part of the home rather than visitors to it, and are welcome whenever they wish to come.
We offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Please contact us if you would like to arrange a visit and see the home for yourself.
