About Us

Grace Manor Care Centre is a nursing home in Gillingham, Medway, and we care for a wide range of people. Older people whose health needs go beyond residential care. Younger adults living with conditions that require qualified nursing. People living with dementia. Adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. People living with mental ill health alongside a physical condition. People with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. People in recovery from problems with alcohol or drugs. Respite stays are available as well.

Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, which is what makes that breadth possible. Medication is managed closely, wound care and conditions that fluctuate are handled on site, and a change in somebody's health is usually noticed early because the person noticing knows them. We work with GPs, district nurses, community mental health teams, therapists and hospital staff, and we keep asking when a resident needs something that is slow to arrive.

Dementia care runs through much of our work, and we treat it as caring for a person with a history rather than managing a condition. Families hold most of that history and we ask for it early.

Across the rest of our work, what matters most is steadiness and an absence of judgement. People sometimes arrive here having been let down elsewhere.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us if you would like to visit.
