About Braeburn Lodge

Braeburn Lodge is a nursing home near Peterborough. We care for older people and younger adults whose needs include nursing, including many living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are part of what we do. Having nurses in the team means health problems are noticed early by people who already know the person, and it means nobody has to move on because their condition has progressed. Nursing is a part of the day and not the character of the house. Once a home starts running to ward habits, residents stop being asked what they would like and the day loses any shape of its own, so we guard the domestic side deliberately. Where a resident communicates differently, whether through sight, hearing or anything else, we settle that properly at the start and everybody uses the same approach consistently. It is the thing most often left half done. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. What would tell you more than any rating is watching how long somebody waits after ringing a bell, so do come and see.
