About Us
Drovers Call Care Home is a nursing home in Gainsborough. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment, people managing a mental health condition, people living with an eating disorder and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
Supporting that range of need in one home works only if the care is genuinely individual. A younger adult who needs structure and encouragement through a difficult period has little in common with an older person in the later stages of dementia, and treating them as variations of the same task fails both. We plan with each person separately and expect staff to know the people they support properly rather than in outline.
Nurses are on duty at every hour, so medication, skin care, nutrition, pain and mobility are managed here and changes in health are noticed early rather than after they have become serious.
We also think a home should feel like somewhere people live. Rooms belong to the people in them, visitors come without appointment, and we would far rather hear a complaint early than a polite silence.
Please come and look round if you are considering nursing care locally.
