About Us
Laurel Bank is a nursing home in Lancaster providing nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including people whose physical disability means they need skilled help with moving and positioning.
Registered nurses are on duty here at every hour, working alongside carers who know the people they look after well. We manage wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions, and we work closely with GPs and community specialists so that changes in somebody's health are acted on early.
Good nursing care is exacting, but it is not the whole of what we do. People live here, and a day made up only of treatment is not much of a day. So we make time for company and conversation, we cook meals that people actually want to eat, and we keep each person's room personal to them. Where somebody is nearing the end of life, our focus is comfort, dignity and making sure families have the time and honest information they need.
Respite and short stays can be arranged, including for people who need nursing care for a period after leaving hospital.
