About Hope House
We are a nursing home in Accrington, caring for people whose needs require qualified nursing alongside help with daily living. We look after older people and younger adults, including people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing. Having registered nurses on duty means medication, pain, wounds, continence and the difficulties people have with eating, drinking and moving can be managed properly and without waiting, and that a change in somebody's health is noticed early rather than late. Necessary as that work is, it is not the whole of a life, so we try to make sure people still choose when they get up, what they wear, what they would like to eat and who they want beside them. Where somebody is younger and living with a disability, the ordinary business of having a life of their own matters just as much as the care itself, and it is easily lost in a setting organised around nursing. We try not to lose it, and we work at keeping people connected to family, friends and whatever they want to do outside the house. We work closely with general practitioners, community teams, therapists and hospital staff and keep families properly informed. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and see us and ask whatever you need to.
