About Gledholt
Gledholt is a nursing home in Huddersfield supporting younger adults with nursing needs, including people with learning disabilities and autism and people living with mental health conditions. Having qualified nurses on site around the clock means health needs can be managed steadily here, rather than through a series of crises and hospital admissions, and it means we can support people whose needs are complex enough that many settings would turn them away. Clinical care is only part of the picture. The people who live here are adults with preferences, friendships, opinions and plans, and a nursing home should not flatten any of that. We support people to decide how their own day goes, to keep in touch with the people who matter to them, and to take part in things beyond these walls. Where someone finds change difficult, we work at their pace and explain what is coming. Where someone has been let down before, we accept that trust takes a while. We also offer respite stays for people whose families provide their support at home and need a planned break, or who need nursing support for a period before returning home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask the people who live here, and their families, what they think of us, and we would rather hear a complaint early than a polite silence.
