About Us
We are a residential and nursing setting in Batley supporting younger adults, including people who have a learning disability, with qualified nursing available alongside everyday support.
Combining nursing with support for people who have a learning disability asks for a particular approach. The clinical side has to be done properly, but it should not become the whole of somebody's life. We take time over communication, we explain what we are doing before we do it, we give notice of change wherever we can and we support people to keep up the relationships, routines and interests that matter to them.
We want to be open about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are working through the points raised, with attention to record keeping, staff supervision and the consistency of support planning, and we would rather set that out ourselves and answer your questions than have you find it elsewhere. Families are part of that work because they can tell whether things have genuinely changed.
Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
Families across Kirklees are welcome to visit and ask us anything.
