About Wain House

We are Wain House, a nursing home in Westgate on Sea, Kent. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside support with daily living, including people living with dementia, and we also look after younger adults with nursing needs. Respite stays are available. Nurses on duty at every hour are what allow us to look after health needs as they change. Medication, wound care, continence, pain and the increasing frailty that often comes with great age can all be managed here, so nobody has to move again simply because their needs have grown. Alongside the nursing we work to keep ordinary life going. People get up when they want, eat what they like, choose where to sit and keep their own belongings and habits. We take the trouble to learn a person's history and preferences, because staff who know somebody well are the ones who notice quickly when they are not themselves. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until we have, we would encourage you to come and see the home and ask us detailed questions about nursing cover, staffing, training and how care is planned here. Relatives are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us if you would like to arrange a visit.
