About Poplars Care Centre
We provide nursing care in Maidstone for people whose needs are complex enough to require qualified nurses alongside day to day support. The people we care for include older people, those living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with loss of sight or hearing and people whose difficulties have involved alcohol or drugs. Work of this kind cannot run on routine alone. It takes nurses on duty so that medication, pain, wounds, continence and difficulties with eating, drinking and moving are managed properly and without waiting, and it takes staff who know each person well enough to see a change before it becomes a crisis. Where somebody is autistic or has a learning disability, the way care is offered often matters more than what is offered, so we pay attention to how a person communicates and what helps them feel safe. We also take people as they are. Several of those we care for have had a difficult road and met plenty of judgement along the way, and they will not meet it from us. Respite stays are available as well as longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and see us and ask whatever you need to.
