About Us
We are a nursing home in Waterlooville, caring for older people whose needs require qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including those living with dementia.
Having registered nurses on duty means medication, pain, wounds, continence and the difficulties people have with eating, drinking and moving can be managed properly and without waiting, and that a change in somebody's health is noticed early rather than late. That often makes the difference between a person staying settled here and being sent into hospital.
Necessary as the clinical work is, it is not the whole of a life. People here still choose when they get up, what they wear, what they would like to eat and who they want beside them. For people living with dementia, patience and familiarity settle somebody far better than any procedure, so we spend time learning about a person's history, work, music and habits and the things that comfort or unsettle them.
We work closely with general practitioners, community teams, therapists and hospital staff and keep families properly informed. Where someone is nearing the end of life, our concern is comfort, dignity and the company of those they love. Respite stays are available as well.
We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are glad to discuss that openly. Please come and see us and ask whatever you need to.
