About Us
Templeton Place Care Home is a nursing home in Southampton. We care for older people whose health needs go beyond what residential care can provide, for younger adults living with conditions that require qualified nursing, and for people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available as well.
Having registered nurses on duty at every hour is the foundation of what we do. Medication is managed carefully, wound care, catheter care and long standing conditions are dealt with on site rather than through a run of appointments elsewhere, and a change in a resident's health tends to be noticed early because the person noticing knows them well. We work closely with GPs, district nurses, therapists and hospital teams, and we press on a resident's behalf when something is slow in coming.
Nursing is only half of what a home should be, and we work at not letting clinical routine crowd out ordinary life. Residents choose when to get up, where to sit, what they would like to eat and whether they want company or quiet. Rooms are people's own space, filled with their own things, and visitors come when it suits them.
For residents living with sight or hearing loss, unhurried communication and a thoughtfully arranged environment make most of the difference. For younger adults, privacy and keeping hold of interests and friendships get real attention.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us if you would like to visit.
