About Us
Thalassa Nursing Home is a nursing home in Gosport, Hampshire. We care for people who need qualified nursing support as part of everyday life, with nursing staff available throughout the day and night so that changing health needs do not mean moving somewhere unfamiliar.
We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people managing a mental health condition. Careful clinical work is central to what we do, but it is rarely what families notice first. They notice whether staff know their relative, whether meals are worth sitting down to, whether the place feels calm and whether people are asked before things are done to them. We hold ourselves to those things.
For people living with dementia we work from life history and familiar routine, and we make sure that knowledge is shared across the whole team rather than left in a file.
We also offer respite care, giving family carers a planned break or supporting someone through a period of recovery after time in hospital.
We work closely with local health professionals and with relatives, and we would always rather hear a concern early than deal with it late. If you would like to look around and meet the team, please get in touch and we will arrange a visit.
