About Primrose House
Primrose House is a nursing home in Gateshead caring for adults who need qualified nursing support alongside help with everyday living. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours, so clinical needs can be met here in familiar surroundings. Most of the people who live with us are older and many are living with dementia. We build the day around the person wherever the rota allows. Mornings that are not rushed. Food somebody actually wants. Familiar music. Staff who can tell whether company is welcome or whether quiet would be better. We also support people living with mental health conditions, working alongside community teams so that support stays joined up, people with physical disabilities, and people with sight or hearing loss, where how we announce ourselves and describe things matters a great deal. Younger adults with nursing needs live here too, and we try to make sure the life of the home has something in it for them. Respite stays are available, whether a family carer needs a planned break or somebody needs nursing support for a few weeks while regaining strength after illness. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to visit if you would like to see the home.
