About St Clare's Care Home

St Clare's Care Home is a nursing home in Burgess Hill. We care for older people whose health needs mean qualified nurses should be close at hand, including many people living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Having nursing staff here means that when somebody's health changes it can be met without a move, which spares a frail person a great deal of disruption. Around that, we try to keep life ordinary, with people choosing when to get up, what they eat and how to spend their days. Respite stays are available as well, for a family carer needing a break or for someone recovering after a hospital admission. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We are not going to soften that. We know which parts of our work were not good enough for the people who live here, and we are working through them with our team rather than waiting for the next inspection to say it again. If you are considering us, please ask about it directly and ask to see what has actually changed. You are welcome to visit on an ordinary day, meet the team and talk to residents and their families.
