About Us
St Marys Care Centre in Hull provides nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss.
Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, working alongside carers who know the people they look after well. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we work closely with GPs and community teams so that changes in health are acted on early.
Nursing is the foundation but not the whole job. People live here, sometimes for a long time, and a day made up only of treatment is not much of a day. So we cook food worth eating, keep every room personal, make time for company and conversation and get out into the air when the weather allows. For people living with dementia we keep routines steady and surroundings familiar, and we watch carefully for pain that somebody cannot describe.
Families are welcome here and kept properly informed.
Respite and short stays can be arranged, including after a hospital admission.
