About Oaklands Care Home
Oaklands in Kingswinford provides nursing and personal care for older people, including those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions and people with a physical disability. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, working alongside carers who know the people they look after well. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we work closely with GPs and community specialists so that changes in health are acted on early. Supporting people with this range of needs takes care planned for each person individually and staff trained for the needs they actually support. It also takes time, so we build the rota to give staff enough of it, because rushed care is rarely good care. We want the home to feel lived in rather than clinical. Rooms are personalised with things that matter, meals are cooked here, visitors are welcome and there is company in the day for anybody who wants it. For people living with dementia we keep routines predictable and familiar things close at hand. Respite and short stays can be arranged. If you are looking at nursing homes in this area, please telephone us and arrange to come and see.
