About Manor
Weymouth Manor provides nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, working alongside carers who know the people they look after well. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we work closely with GPs and community specialists so that changes in health are acted on early rather than late. Clinical care is the foundation, but it is not the whole job. People live here and the day needs to hold something more than treatment, so we cook food that people actually want to eat, keep every room personal, make time for company and conversation, and get out into the air when the weather allows. For people living with dementia we keep routines steady and surroundings familiar, and we watch carefully for pain or distress that somebody cannot put into words. Families are welcome here and kept properly informed rather than only contacted when something has gone wrong. Respite and short stays can be arranged, including after a hospital admission.
