About Us
Blandford Grange is a nursing home in Blandford Forum, Dorset. We care for older people and younger adults whose needs include nursing, including many living with dementia, and we offer respite stays.
Because nursing is provided here, there is no point at which somebody becomes too unwell to stay. That stability is worth more than it sounds, particularly to families who have already been through one difficult move.
The clinical side is only a part of the day and usually the smaller part. The rest is ordinary life: food people want to eat, help that comes without a wait, privacy, company when it is wanted, and being treated as somebody with a history rather than a set of conditions.
For residents living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the surroundings unchanged, and we ask relatives for the history that lets us understand what somebody means rather than only what they have said.
Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We do not think a single word can describe a place where people live, so please come and form your own view.
